in: New Jersey; Maine; Washington, DC; Texas, New Mexico, and California.
We live in community and share our lives with each other. One of the hallmarks

praying together.

Community
We live in neighborhoods, here are two of our places of community in Paterson:
|

House Emmanuel in Paterson
|
The sisters at Emmanuel welcome those who are discerning religious
life and come and stay for a weekend or any other length of time.
Those who through God's inspiration
come to us desiring to accept this way of
life are to be received kindly.
(TOR 2, 4a)

|
|
“Peace and all Good”
St. Francis’ greeting is our sign
of welcome in front of the house.

Community grows through the constant endeavor of every sister to
participate in
community life and to be responsible for
its development.

Prayer
|

|
Prayer table in one of our chapels in Paterson: The Eucharist, the
candle, the heart with the four Franciscan values of Contemplation,
Humility, Poverty, and Conversion.
As you look at the background of this image, you will notice that it
is a window looking out on the houses of the neighborhood. This is an
image of our community prayer: We embrace our city with its people; we
embrace the world with all its needs and suffering. Our prayer
embraces the Franciscan Life that is lived with undivided hearts. Our
prayer embraces the Eucharist and celebrates Christ’s presence among
us.
